Influencer and foster dog mom Isabel Klee is getting her own TV show.
Klee, who has two million followers across Instagram and TikTok, gained popularity when she started posting about her rescue dog, Tiki.
Fans fell in love with the pet and encouraged Klee to keep him. However, Klee explained that she prefers to rehabilitate dogs then help them find a new family. Once one dog finds a home, she fosters another.
Klee is a huge animal welfare advocate who has raised $750,000 for animal non-profits in the last year alone. She also made an appearance at the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet with another rescue dog, Moonie.
This April, Klee is coming out with a memoir called Dogs, Boys and Other Things I’ve Cried About. According to Deadline, “The book sees Klee weave together the stories of her foster dogs—including her first true love Simon, a puppy saved from the meat trade—with tales of complicated relationships, hard decisions and great loves in New York City, all leading to a happy ending not only for the rescue pups, but for Klee herself.”
Universal Content Productions has procured the rights to turn the novel into a television series. Klee is attached to the project as an executive producer.
“I’ve had a few crazy moments that have been very pinch me,” Klee said in an interview with Variety. “Kylie Kelce has commented on some of my things, and follows me and has been so kind. Abby Wambach was a huge one. She was a huge Tiki fan, and really reached out, and we would message back and forth. Alyssa Milano comments on a ton of my stuff. Rosie O’Donnell. Sarah Paulson—that’s a new one. All these people are just the kindest, the most supportive. They love rescue animals. It’s been pretty surreal.”
Dogs, Boys and Other Things I’ve Cried About comes out on April 28.
