The LEGO Artemis Space Launch System was released in May of 2024. However, due to the recent space launch, the product is now on backorder. It can still be purchased online, but it will not be shipped for two months.

This space-themed set, which costs $259.99 and consists of 3,601 pieces, is meant for ages 18 and up. It includes a rocket with two solid-fuel boosters, an Orion capsule, and a mobile launch tower. It stands over 27.5 inches tall and is 10.5 inches wide, making it perfect for displaying in the home or office.

According to the official LEGO site, “This accurate replica depicts real launch systems and includes retractable launch tower umbilicals, rocket support and crew bridge, detachable solid-fuel boosters and separating rocket stages. The set also includes a model of the Orion module with foldout solar panels, which can be placed inside the rocket or on a separate display stand.”

There is also a NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket available for purchase, which was developed in collaboration with NASA and ESA. This model was released in January 2026 and is more kid friendly. It’s meant for ages nine and older and contains 632 pieces.

Although this set is simpler, it’s still impressive, featuring a crank that allows you to recreate the rocket launching. “Turn the crank to see the solid rocket boosters separate from the core stage, which then also detaches,” the product page explains. “Continue turning to watch the upper stage with its engine module, Orion spacecraft and launch abort system separate.”

This set stands over 27.5 inches high and is 6.5 inches long. It also includes four astronaut nanofigures. Although this model is also on backorder, it will ship by April 25, which is faster than the previous set.

Even if you can’t get ahold of a LEGO Artemis model right now, can enjoy photos and videos from the real spacecraft. Artemis II was launched on April 1 and is scheduled to return on April 10.
