A leaked LEGO set based on Barcelona’s Sagrada Família could become the largest ever, according to a leaker with a history of credible product insights. The leaker says the set would include 12,060 pieces and carry a $600 price tag.
The Sagrada Família is the largest unfinished Catholic church in the world. It was designed by the architect Antoni Gaudí, who spent a lot of time outdoors and was inspired by the natural world. Unlike most cathedrals, which have straight designs, he wanted to create a building that more closely mimicked nature.
Construction of the church began back in 1882, although another architect was originally in charge before Gaudí took over and completely redesigned the plans in 1883. However, by the time Gaudí died in 1926, less than a quarter of the project was complete.
To this day, it is still not fully finished. However, a milestone was reached on February 20, 2026. The final piece was installed on the Tower of Jesus Christ, reportedly making it the tallest church in the world.
Basing LEGO sets off of famous pieces of architecture isn’t a new occurrence. There are many different sets available based on real structures like the Great Pyramids, Notre Dame, and the Statue of Liberty. There are even works of art you can recreate, like Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night.
One of the largest LEGO sets that currently exist is the Eiffel Tower, which contains 10,001 pieces and stands at 58 inches high. Like the original construction in Paris, the model is assembled in four different sections to closely mimic the way the real tower was built.
Another large LEGO set was the Colosseum, which contained over 9,000 pieces with three stories. It stretched 20.5 inches wide and 23.5 inches deep. However, the set is no longer available for purchase.
The Sagrada Família set is reportedly expected to be released on July 1.
