Haylie Duff and Matt Rosenberg have officially ended their relationship. According to a statement that her rep told People, the split occurred around the first of the year and “she asks for privacy at this time in protection of her young daughters.”
After dating for over a year, the pair got engaged on April Fools’ Day in 2014. Although they were engaged for 12 years, they never went through with a wedding. They originally postponed the ceremony when they realized she was pregnant with their first child.
In a 2018 interview with People, Duff spoke about putting off the wedding again as their second child was about to be born. “We talk about it and think, ‘Maybe now we're ready to do it' and then life happens and toddler happens,” she said. “We feel married already and it hasn't become something that both of us are gung-ho about. Maybe after the craziness of a new baby dies down we'll be ready to talk about it again.”
Duff also spoke with Page Six about the engagement in 2021. “We feel married in a lot of ways,” she said. “I mean, we couldn’t be more married if we tried. We’ve got two kids and couldn’t be more married if we tried, but I think both of us envisioned doing it in Texas, and so now that we’re here, the conversations are happening a little more often than they were before.”
Duff is an actress and singer who appeared in 7th Heaven and Napoleon Dynamite. She is also the older sister of Hilary Duff, who she has allegedly been feuding with for years. They have not been pictured together since 2019 and Hilary recently came out with a song called “We Don’t Talk,” which is about their strained relationship.
When speaking with CBS Mornings, Hilary revealed, “It’s definitely about my sister, and just absolutely the most lonely part of my existence is not having my sister in my life at the moment.”
