Harold Perrineau is the star of the highly underrated MGM+ series, From, a supernatural horror show about a mysterious town with a hidden secret. Perrineau was also part of the original cast of Lost, playing the role of Michael from 2004 to 2008. At the end of season two, there was a scene where his character killed two others, shocking audiences.
In an interview with The Independent, he spoke about this infamous scene, and revealed that one of the actresses from that show still won’t speak to him because of it. The characters who Michael shot were played by actresses Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros. Apparently, they didn’t know that they were going to be written off the show until the day that they filmed the scene.
As Perrineau explained, “They rang me up and said, 'So, [Michael is] coming back, and here's what he's going to do, and we are not telling anybody until the day we shoot it.”
He continued, “This is really weird to say, but one of the actresses, to this day, still doesn't talk to me—like I wrote it. I didn't write it.” However, he refused to specify whether he was referring to Watros or Rodriguez.
Many fans of Lost have spoken highly about this scene over the years. As one YouTube commenter said, “So many years later this one still remains the most shocking scene ever.” Another commenter said, “This was beautifully filmed, the way it goes absolute cold silence after he shoots them and then he walks over to the door, compared the most scenes with heavy music, that was powerful. Unforgettable scene for sure.”
From, which started airing in 2022 and is currently in its fourth season, is releasing new episodes every Sunday on the streaming service, MGM+.
