The drama between ex-friends and The Secret Lives of Momon Wives costars Taylor Frankie Paul and Mikayla Matthews is only continuing to heat up.
Paul, in particular, has been the subject of much online controversy in recent months due to her ongoing legal conflict with her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. Mortensen, who also stars on SLOMW, is the father of Paul’s youngest child, Ever.
Both Paul and Mortensen have accused one another of domestic violence and are currently fighting over custody of 2-year-old Ever. Paul temporarily lost custody of Ever as a result of the legal battle.
Meanwhile, fans of Paul have accused Matthews of not having her former friend’s back in the midst of the recent controversy.
Matthews admittedly refused to continue to film SLOMW with Paul, claiming her decision was about “no longer wanting to publicly participate in or normalize a cycle that was affecting everyone around it, especially where children and repeated violence were involved.”
Paul later clapped back publicly, calling Matthews a “snake friend.”
In a lengthy new Instagram post shared on May 14, Paul opened up further about her ongoing legal struggles.
She discussed being afraid to defend herself against Mortensen due to already being on probation for a past domestic violence incident, claiming that was part of the reason she stayed in the toxic relationship for so long.
“I wish he had been the person he pretended to be. I experienced enough, I saw too much. The mask fell off, and not only with me. We’re both in the wrong. What I can say is I didn’t want to ruin his life, call cops on him, take his child away, or claim complete innocence, that’s the difference between us.”
Paul then concluded her post by taking aim at Matthews.
“And then we have friends like Mikayla who come at me during all this, and now she wants me to apologize? Absolutely not. She can go kick rocks instead of kicking me right now,” she wrote.
