Influencer and reality television star Taylor Frankie Paul has just received a win in her bitter legal battle against her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen.
On Tuesday, April 7, a judge granted Paul a protective order against Mortensen. As part of that order, Mortensen must stay 100 yards away from her and is not permitted to text her. This is just a temporary restraining order that will remain in place at least until another hearing that will be held later this month. During that time, a judge will determine whether or not a permanent protective order will be put in place.
Mortensen previously filed for a protective order against Paul and was granted that petition. As part of that filing, Mortensen claimed that Paul was violent toward him in February of 2026. Mortensen was also awarded temporary custody of Ever, the young son that he shares with Paul.
In recent weeks, the legal battle between Mortensen and Paul has only continued to intensify.
In the request for a protective order against Mortensen that Paul filed earlier this week, Paul cited past “alarming” actions made by Mortensen that she viewed as “increasingly possessive and erratic.”
She also claimed that just hours before she was set to promote her since-canceled season of The Bachelorette, Mortensen got a tattoo of her initials on the inside of his lip. She says that the two of them were broken up at the time that he chose to get this tattoo.
“My initials are now permanently tattooed on the body of a man who has been abusive toward and possessive of me,” she stated.
Paul also claimed that Mortensen had been “bombarding” her with text messages in hopes of getting back together with her.
In the wake of domestic violence allegations that both Paul and Mortensen have made against one another, the reality television show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has paused filming.
