Snoop Dogg has taken a moment to reminisce about the time IShowSpeed mistook an impersonator for him.
Speaking in a new interview with BigBoyTV, the Long Beach rap legend recalled how he learned about the streamer's bizarre interaction.
"[Speed] went somewhere, and he thought he met me, so he posted it and hit me in the DM. 'Man, it was so nice meeting you.' I said, 'Hey, man, I ain't never met you. Never,'" Snoop told Big Boy.
The host then pointed out that it's "almost scary the way that this dude thinks that he's you," before asking Snoop if he knew the impersonator.
"I have to meet my fans," The "Drop It Like It's Hot" hitmaker said, confirming he had indeed met him. Snoop added that the impersonator "looks like Snoop Dogg in his last album, in his older years."
Last May, IShowSpeed made headlines after he mistook the impersonator for the West Coast icon. Speed took a selfie with the man he thought was Snoop, and when the image surfaced online, the actual Snoop responded.
"Almost @ishowspeed," Snoop wrote, alongside a handful of sideways cry-laughing emojis.
The impersonator was likely Eric Finch, an actor and a professional Snoop look-alike who once filmed a Corona commercial with the 54-year-old rapper.
Last month, Snoop Dogg gave fans an early glimpse into what to expect from his upcoming biopic.
The hip-hop icon took the stage at CinemaCon alongside Jonathan Daviss, who is set to portray him in the film, to preview the project, which is set to begin filming this summer. While details remain limited, Snoop made it clear the film will reflect his story authentically.
"If we gonna do a Snoop Dogg movie, I gotta get gangster with it," he said. "My movie is going to be rated R, I guarantee that. So get your parents' permission."
