Fans finally got an extended look at Star Wars: Zero Company during Summer Game Fest 2026, as developer Bit Reactor, working alongside Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm Games, unveiled new gameplay footage from the upcoming strategy title. Set during the Clone Wars, Star Wars: Zero Company places players in command of a covert squad operating far from the galaxy’s headline battles, with the game scheduled to launch on August 27, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Unlike many recent Star Wars games that focus on Jedi heroes or large-scale warfare, Star Wars: Zero Company centers on tactical decision-making and squad management. Players take control of Hawks, a former Republic officer tasked with assembling a team of specialists to investigate a growing threat linked to a Separatist-aligned cult led by Kundri Fathom. Missions unfold through turn-based combat, where positioning, teamwork, and strategic choices shape the outcome of each encounter.

Per the official Lucasfilm website, the game’s setting offers a different perspective on one of the franchise’s most explored eras. While iconic characters still appear—including a brief encounter with Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, the alter ego of the one and only Darth Vader—the story focuses primarily on operatives working behind the scenes of the Clone Wars.

The roster includes a clone trooper voiced by veteran Star Wars actor Dee Bradley Baker, a Mandalorian warrior, a Jedi Padawan, and a variety of recruits drawn from across the galaxy.

Customization also plays a major role. Hawks and other Operators can be created from eight familiar Star Wars species, including Twi’leks, Togruta, Zabraks, Humans, and more. Players can modify appearances, combat specializations, abilities, and equipment while managing their headquarters, known as The Den.

Relationships developed between squad members unlock additional combat synergies and support abilities, adding another strategic layer to the experience.

“Our team has poured everything we love about Star Wars into Zero Company,” Bit Reactor CEO and creative director Greg Foertsch said in a statement.

He noted that the project introduces new characters, original locations, and expanded customization options while remaining rooted in Clone Wars-era storytelling.

Meanwhile, Douglas Reilly of Lucasfilm Games described the title as a fresh take on the franchise, combining cinematic storytelling with tactical gameplay from a perspective fans have not previously explored.

Electronic Arts is also offering multiple pre-order options. Standard Edition pre-orders include the Crystalline Astromech Pack, featuring unique droid cosmetics and the exclusive BR-1 droid.

The Deluxe Edition adds Clone Wars-themed cosmetic bundles inspired by Republic forces and criminal organizations such as the Shadow Collective, along with additional weapon skins.
