Former Nickelodeon actor Chris O'Neal was arrested this week in connection with an alleged home invasion in Malibu, California.
Authorities told TMZ that deputies responded to a burglary call at approximately 5:45 a.m. on Monday, March 16, after a homeowner reviewed security footage showing three individuals inside the residence. According to investigators, the suspects allegedly entered through the rear of the property and manipulated the home’s camera system, cutting off visibility into what happened once they were inside.
O’Neal, 31, was among those detained at the scene and later booked into Los Angeles County Jail in connection with the incident. He was released on Tuesday, March 17.
Officials have not publicly detailed what, if anything, was taken from the home, and it remains unclear what specific charges may be filed.
The arrest brings renewed attention to O’Neal’s early career, which began with his breakout role on Nickelodeon’s How to Rock. The 2012 series followed a group of high school students navigating shifting social dynamics through music, with O’Neal playing Kevin Reed, the band’s drummer.
The show’s lead star was Cymphonique Miller, daughter of Master P.
Following his time on Nickelodeon, O’Neal continued working steadily in television. He appeared in the Netflix drama Greenhouse Academy, where he held a main role across multiple seasons, and also had credits in projects including You Gotta See This, which he co-hosted, and the TV movie Swindle.
In addition to acting, he explored music, releasing an EP as he expanded his presence in the entertainment industry.
O’Neal’s background includes growing up in Teaneck, New Jersey, where he attended local schools before transitioning into acting through commercial work and early television appearances.
Authorities have not released the identities of the other individuals allegedly involved or clarified the sequence of events inside the home after the cameras were disabled.
Law enforcement sources have also indicated that the investigation remains active.
