Tylor Chase is expected to enter a rehabilitation program following a 72-hour hospital hold in Southern California.

According to TMZ, the former Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide actor, 36, is currently receiving medical care at a hospital near Riverside before being transferred to a rehab facility.

The hospital hold followed what those involved described as a critical moment during efforts to help the former Nickelodeon star over the Christmas holiday.

Jacob Harris, a Riverside barbershop owner who became involved after being contacted by Shaun Weiss, said the situation escalated during a three-hour visit on Christmas Day.

“I had to do something,” Harris explained, adding that he located a crisis center willing to conduct an on-site evaluation. That assessment ultimately led to Chase being placed on the hold.

Chase’s circumstances drew widespread attention earlier this month after a viral TikTok showed him living on the streets. The video prompted an outpouring of concern from fans, former colleagues, and people in the local community. Riverside police later confirmed they had interacted with Chase regularly, offering treatment or shelter options that he repeatedly declined.

In the days leading up to the hospital hold, Daniel Curtis Lee, Chase’s former co-star, had stepped in directly. Lee shared that he helped secure a motel room for Chase as a storm approached, hoping to provide temporary shelter.

However, Lee later told followers that the situation quickly deteriorated. The motel room was severely damaged shortly after Chase moved in, including a refrigerator being overturned and a microwave being thrown into a bathtub.

Lee acknowledged that Chase’s family had previously struggled with placing him in hotels and hoped the arrangement would hold, even temporarily. “He wanted to stay local, and this was the only place that was open and accepted people,” Lee said in an earlier video explaining why he chose that location.

Weiss, who has been sober for nearly six years after facing addiction and homelessness himself, also mobilized resources.

He said earlier this week that a detox bed had been secured and that long-term treatment was available through 11:11 Recovery.

Chase, who played recurring character Martin Qwerly on Ned’s Declassified from 2004 to 2007, last appeared onscreen in 2011.
