Meghan Markle marked Father’s Day with a rare family photo celebrating Prince Harry and his role as a father to their two children, Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex.

Shared on Instagram on Sunday, June 21, the image captured Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, embracing their father as he smiled for the camera. Meghan paired the picture with a message directed to Harry, writing: “They’re so lucky to have you 🥹 We all are Happy Father’s Day to our one and only.”

The post gave another glimpse into the family’s private life in Montecito, California, where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been raising their children since stepping away from royal duties.

The Father’s Day tribute follows a string of personal family moments Meghan has recently shared online. Earlier this month, she celebrated Lilibet’s fifth birthday with new photos showing the young princess’s red hair and called her “Our dream girl.”

Days later, Meghan posted summer snapshots featuring the children and even a playful nod to Beyoncé, with Lilibet wearing a shirt dedicated to the 35-time Grammy winner.

While Harry and Meghan have become increasingly comfortable sharing selected moments with the public, both have consistently spoken about creating a different upbringing for Archie and Lilibet than the one Harry experienced growing up. During a 2021 appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepard and Monica Padman, Harry discussed his desire to change patterns passed down through generations.

“There’s a lot of genetic pain and suffering that gets passed on anyway,” Harry said. “As parents, we should be doing the most that we can to try to say, ‘You know what, that happened to me, I’m going to make sure it doesn’t happen to you.’”

The Duke also reflected on the impact of his own upbringing, saying his father, King Charles III, likely parented him based on his own experiences. “How can I change that for my own kids?” Harry said. “Well, here I am. I’ve now moved my whole family to the U.S.”
