Princess Lilibet of Sussex turned 5 on Thursday, June 4, and her parents marked the occasion with a rare public tribute that offered another glimpse into family life in California. To celebrate the milestone, Meghan Markle shared new photos of Lilibet on Instagram, highlighting the young royal’s signature red hair and a series of candid moments with her family.
According to People, the birthday post featured two images. In one, Prince Harry holds his daughter while Meghan smiles nearby. Another photo shows Lilibet walking barefoot through the gardens of what appears to be the family’s Montecito property. Wearing an embroidered sundress with her long hair loose, Lilibet is largely photographed from behind or at a distance, continuing the couple’s approach of sharing family moments while maintaining their children’s privacy.
Meghan accompanied the post with a brief message: “Our dream girl. Happy 5th birthday, Lili,” followed by a heart emoji.
The celebration follows a busy few weeks for the Sussex family. Last month, Meghan shared another photo featuring her daughter, calling her “Mama’s little helper” as she prepared for a work trip.
The post also highlighted a trait often noted by royal watchers: the bright red hair that both Lilibet and her older brother, Prince Archie of Sussex, inherited from their father.
The family also recently extended birthday celebrations with a trip to Disneyland Resort, where they marked both Archie’s and Lilibet’s birthdays together. The children enjoyed rides and attractions during the visit, which also served as a family outing for Meghan and her mother, Doria Ragland.
Harry and Meghan welcomed Archie in 2019 while living in the United Kingdom. After stepping back from royal duties in 2020 and relocating to California, they welcomed Lilibet in June 2021.
Since then, the couple has balanced media projects, charitable initiatives, and business ventures while raising their children largely outside the spotlight.
