The fallout from Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll's split has taken another unexpected turn, with Bunnie's ex-husband, Frankie Lombardo, publicly admitting he would welcome a second chance with the podcast host as the country star's divorce unfolds.
In comments to Page Six, Lombardo said he and Bunnie still speak regularly and claimed he has lingering feelings for his former wife, whom he married from 2009 to 2015. "We talk every day," he said, adding that he "wouldn't say no" to rekindling their romance. "She was the only woman who ever broke my heart. I feel like there's a lot of unfinished business between us."
The remarks surfaced less than a week after reports revealed that Jelly Roll had quietly filed for divorce in May, citing irreconcilable differences after nearly a decade of marriage.
Even amid the breakup, both have gone out of their way to stress that the separation was not caused by infidelity. After internet rumors falsely linked Bunnie to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, she used her podcast to firmly deny any romantic involvement.
"There is no Chad and Bunnie Xo," she said. "I did not cheat on my husband and leave him for Chad."
Jelly Roll backed her up from the stage during a concert stop in Saratoga Springs, New York.
Lombardo echoed that sentiment, describing Bunnie as his "best friend" and saying she still occasionally "talks to me like she's my wife." He also defended her on TikTok, posting videos in which he declared, "I will always love that girl. I can't get away if I tried."
The timing is notable given how candid Bunnie has been about the end of her marriage. On Dumb Blonde, she revealed that a Mother's Day argument pushed the relationship to its breaking point.
"I was so fed up and so tired that I just looked at him and said, 'Well, then file the f*cking divorce papers,'" she said.
She also spoke about the emotional toll of the couple's IVF journey, describing the experience as "one of the loneliest, darkest journeys" she had ever faced. Despite their separation, she indicated that the pair still hopes to have a child together.
