After more than two years together, Ali Wong and Bill Hader have ended their relationship. The pair, who confirmed their romance publicly in 2023, are said to have parted ways on friendly terms.
People reports that the breakup came down to logistics rather than drama. With Wong preparing for a major stand-up tour and Hader juggling multiple film and television projects, maintaining a relationship became increasingly difficult.
“It was too hard to make it work with their schedules and family responsibilities,” the source explained, adding that the split has been “very amicable.”
Despite no longer being romantically involved, the two are reportedly still close. They remain in contact and continue to support one another while prioritizing their work and their children.
Wong and Hader’s relationship has drawn attention since it became public, in part because both comedians were navigating major career and personal transitions.
Fans began speculating about trouble earlier this year when Wong attended the 2025 Golden Globe Awards without Hader and did not mention him during her acceptance speech. Wong won Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television for her Netflix special Single Lady, beating out nominees including Jamie Foxx, Adam Sandler, and Nikki Glaser.
At the time, a representative for Hader said the actor missed the ceremony due to a health issue, and sources insisted the couple was still together. Just weeks earlier, Wong and Hader had appeared side by side at the December 2024 premiere of Peacock’s Laid. They also attended the 2024 Golden Globes together, where Wong won for her role in Beef and shared a brief kiss with Hader before heading to the stage.
The two initially dated briefly in late 2022 before reconnecting the following year after Wong separated from her then-husband, Justin Hakuta. Wong and Hakuta finalized their divorce in May 2024.
In Ali Wong: Single Lady, released in October 2024, Wong shared personal details about reconnecting with Hader. She revealed that he reached out after learning of her divorce, telling the audience he had “had a crush on [her] forever,” and later sent her flowers while she was traveling in Europe.
