Kimora Lee Simmons is content with single life — and she’s not looking for love on her phone.

In a new interview with People, the 50-year-old fashion entrepreneur and reality TV veteran said she has “no prospects” right now and zero interest in joining dating apps.

“I wouldn’t go on an app because I don’t even know the first thing about how these people are behaving,” Simmons said.

Instead, Simmons says her focus stays close to home. As a mother of five — Ming Lee, 25; Aoki Lee, 23; Kenzo Lee, 16; Gary Lee, 16; and Wolfe Lee, 10 — plus her “bonus son” Jayden, 19, dating conversations still happen regularly, just not for her.

“We’re very close, and I try to give them the best advice I can,” she said. “I’ve seen a lot of things. We’re definitely all learning from each other. It’s like battle of the sexes under one roof.”

Simmons’ own relationship history shapes that perspective. She shares Ming and Aoki with ex-husband Russell Simmons. After they split in 2006, she dated actor Djimon Hounsou, with whom she shares son Kenzo. Following that relationship, Simmons was involved with former investment banker Tim Leissner, and the two welcomed Wolfe in 2015.

Despite those shared histories, Simmons says she doesn’t maintain personal relationships with her children’s fathers. “Usually I would say that I co-parent okay, but the kids are with me full-time,” she explained. “I’m pretty much the primary parent. It’s difficult, but I don’t know sometimes what other people are thinking. Guys are weird.”

Simmons adopted Gary from Jamaica in 2020 and has consistently emphasized independence over romantic reliance.

“My life doesn’t ever revolve around a guy, ever,” she said. “You have to look out for yourself. A man’s not going to be responsible to give you everything in life. It’s important to be independent.”

That energy is currently being poured into family and work. Simmons stars in E!’s Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane, a follow-up to Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane, which aired from 2007 to 2011. The new series documents what Simmons calls a return to reality TV, rather than a reboot of the past.

“It’s like a chapter two of life,” she said. “I do think things go in a cycle — it’s not just cliché. I’m living it.”
