TLC’s newest season of 90 Day Fiancé is already delivering relationship drama, but one of the show’s most talked-about storylines centers on Debby Rolando and her fiancé, Mohamed “Mido” Fayed. The couple made their Season 12 debut on May 17, introducing viewers to a romance built around international travel, Hollywood dreams, and growing concerns from Rolando’s inner circle about whether everything is really what it seems.
Rolando, a 55-year-old insurance agent from New Orleans, met Fayed years ago while he was working as a tour guide in Egypt during a trip she took with her daughter, Devyn. According to Page Six, the pair later got engaged, with Fayed now preparing to relocate to the United States.
But almost immediately after their introduction on the series, questions surrounding Mido’s acting career and social media presence became a major storyline. Debby repeatedly describes him as a successful Egyptian movie star, even though she admits she has never actually seen any of his work onscreen.
During the episode, Debby explained that Mido often avoids sharing clips from his projects with her, telling cameras, “He doesn’t show me his work.” She added that when she asked him for acting reels or scenes from his past projects, he claimed she would not understand the language and promised to explain everything once he arrived in America.
TLC has also framed the relationship around Mido’s stated goal of building a Hollywood career after moving to the U.S., something that leaves Debby uncertain about his long-term intentions.
The skepticism isn’t limited to viewers. Debby’s daughter openly questioned whether Mido’s image matches the career he claims to have. In one scene, Devyn dismissed his promotional photos as looking more like “Instagram model” shots than professional actor headshots.
Debby also acknowledged that Mido rarely posts about her online, despite frequently appearing alongside other women on social media. The issue previously caused tension in the relationship after Mido posted photos with an Egyptian actress and later insisted the posts were connected to work opportunities.
Outside the relationship drama, Mido appears to have credits in Egypt’s entertainment industry. His social media pages list acting projects, including The Choice, Cuffs Season 2, and Abu Omar Al Masry. He also reportedly works as an English and Japanese-speaking tour guide in Cairo.
The tension escalated further when Mido abruptly reconsidered his trip to New Orleans less than 24 hours before his scheduled flight. After explaining that his father was dealing with health problems, he told Debby he wanted to delay the move for two weeks.
The conversation quickly became emotional, with Debby later breaking down on camera and questioning whether Mido would actually board the plane.
