Timothée Chalamet earned his biggest accolade for his performance in Marty Supreme yet at the Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday (Jan. 4), and he used his speech as an opportunity to thank his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.

At the 31st Critics' Choice Awards, Chalamet was up against some stiff competition, but was ultimately awarded Best Actor for his performance as Marty Mauser in Josh Safdie’s table tennis epic, Marty Supreme.

“Man, thank you guys,” said Chalamet when he got up onstage. He took a moment to thank his fellow nominees and told Michael B. Jordan that he was happy he stuck around for the mid-credits scene in Sinners when he watched it a second time.

“I got a lot of people to thank, I don’t know if I’ll be up here again, so give me a second,” he continued, stumbling over his words slightly while he thanked the production crew on Marty Supreme. “Josh Safdie, thanks for crafting a role and a story… You made a story about a flawed man with a relatable dream, and you didn’t preach to the audience about what’s right and wrong. I think we should all be telling stories like that, so thank you for this dream.”

But he saved Kylie Jenner for his last shout-out of the night.

“And lastly, I’ll just say… Thank you to my partner of three years,” he said. “Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Jenner appeared to mouth back, “I love you,” as he wrapped up his speech.

Chalamet and Jenner have been dating since at least April 2023. She joined her boyfriend to show support at the Marty Supreme table, sitting alongside Safdie and the rest of the team behind the A24 hit, which also stars an electric Tyler, The Creator in his feature film acting debut. Marty Supreme was also up for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Casting and Ensemble, Best Original Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Production Design, and Best Score.

The Best Actor category at the Critics’ Choice Awards was filled with heavy hitters this year. Chalamet managed to beat out some huge names, including Leonardo DiCaprio for One Battle After Another, Joel Edgerton for Train Dreams, Ethan Hawke for Blue Moon, Michael B. Jordan for his dual roles in Sinners, and Wagner Moura for his triple role in the Best Foreign Language Film winner, The Secret Agent.
