Bobbi Althoff shared an emotional TikTok responding to misogynistic critics who accused her of being “ran through.”
In the four-minute-long clip, Althoff fought off tears as she responded to the hate she’s faced in her comments as of late. “I hate to make a video like this, because it’s embarrassing," she said. “I know some people feed off of saying hurtful things to get a reaction, but today I posted a video of me and my boyfriend, and so many of the comments every single time I post him… all the comments are about how I’m ‘ran through,’ and, ‘Oh look, another one, he probably doesn’t know how ran through she is.’”
Althoff said that she’s been dating her boyfriend, Ty Hawkins, for approximately a year now. She was previously married to Cory Althoff, with whom she shares two children.
“The amount of hate comments I get are just unreal, and I think it’s because I have a lot of men following me and they just have so much to say—so many mean things to say,” she continued. “As much as I wish these comments didn’t get to me, I’m human. If you got this many negative things said about you every day, it would get to you, too. I don’t want sympathy from people, I’m saying this because I hope if you’re one of the people who hate me maybe you’ll watch it and reconsider it.”
She said that it’s “so frustrating” to be on the receiving end of so much vitriol, and as a result, she’s stopped posting online as much. She also shut down accusations that she would “sleep with” the guests on her podcasts, but conceded that her haters would “never believe that.”
“I am such a good mother; anyone who knows me in real life knows I’m an amazing mother,” she said. “One day, my kids are going to be old enough to read these comments. I wish people weren’t so mean. I’m so grateful for this job, because I make a lot of money… So many people are so angry that I’m not with ex anymore. He’s in a happy relationship; why can’t I be in one too? Our relationship didn’t work out. Newsflash, you guys, I was 21 when I met him on Bumble, and ten months after knowing him, I was pregnant with our daughter.”
She concluded the video by admitting that she felt "embarrassed" by the hateful comments and that she doesn’t know how to stop people from being mean to her in her comments. “I don’t know what I did to deserve that,” she said.
Earlier this year, Bobbi Althoff relaunched her podcast as Not This Again with another interview with Drake.
