Pete Davidson recalled a painfully awkward childhood memory where his grandfather once caught him watching a gay porn video.
As seen in a video clip obtained by TMZ, the 32-year-old comedian shared the story during a recent stand-up set and explained that he accidentally clicked on a graphic gay adult video when he was 8 years old and kept watching out of curiosity.
He said the “Lemon Party” clip featured “six 70-year-old men” set to the whistling theme song from The Andy Griffith Show.
“I clicked it and it was horrible. It's a video of six 70-year-old men, white guys, blowing each other to the Andy Griffith theme song,” Davidson said before whistling the infamous theme song. “I watched the whole thing cuz I was eight, and I was like, ‘What happens?’”
Things quickly went south when Davidson heard his grandfather coming downstairs after a Knights of Columbus outing. He shut the computer screen off, but his grandfather demanded he turn it back on.
“I'm trying to click out of it and I hear my grandpa get home from the Knights of Columbus. He starts coming downstairs, I freak out. I shut off the screen and I turn off the volume. But like an idiot, I just sat there. He gets downstairs. He goes, ‘What are you watching?’ I go, ‘Nothing.’
“He goes, ‘Come on. Is it our favorite girl?’ I go, ‘That's gross.’ ‘Cuz your favorite girl should be grandma,” he added.
After some back-and-forth about turning the video back on, Davidson tried warning his grandfather by joking that it looked like “the worst night at the Knights of Columbus, ever.” However, the grandfather still insisted.
“He grabs my neck and he squeezes it,” Davidson recalled. “He goes, ‘Turn on the fucking screen.’ So I turn it on and, like an idiot I turn the volume on, too—I don't know why, I guess I wanted him to have the full experience. I remember how much he saw by the part of the song. This is the only part he saw: it went [whistles briefly], and then he punched a screen, and he broke my computer and then he bowed face.
“He turned away from me and he went, ‘Peter, we are never to speak of this.’”
Davidson also recently made headlines for joking about his past beef with Kanye West during Netflix’s The Roast of Kevin Hart.
