Angus Cloud's mother, Lisa Cloud, has filed a lawsuit against Hackard Law, attorney Michael Hackard, and associate Brian Geremia, accusing them of elder abuse, emotional distress, and other harm connected to legal claims made against her late son's estate.
According to TMZ, Lisa—who manages Angus’s estate following his death in 2023—claims the firm filed “meritless creditor’s claims and a civil action” seeking about $310,000 on behalf of a man named Jonathan Kim, who alleged he had been Angus’s “personal assistant.”
Lisa says there was no evidence to support Kim’s claims and that he later admitted a $195,000 claim for unpaid commissions was fabricated at the attorneys’ direction to make the case “worth their while.” She says she was forced to spend “approximately $64,000 in legal fees” fighting the case, leaving her with “severe emotional distress.”
The outlet also notes that Angus' estate was valued at only about $50,000.
TMZ reports that Lisa also accuses the firm of sharing a private letter she wrote to the attorneys about Kim's alleged admission, leading to threatening messages from Kim, including one in which he told her he would have her locked up. The complaint says this "caused Plaintiff to fear for her physical safety."
Lisa is suing the attorneys for damages, including punitive ones.
