Tom Holland’s latest BERO line drop is more timely than ever.
On Monday, June 1 — one day after the shocking series finale of Euphoria, which starred his wife, Zendaya — Holland revealed the latest collection of his zero-proof BERO cocktails. This summer, BERO drinkers can enjoy an alcohol-removed version of the shandy, a traditional British cocktail made with beer and lemon.
Holland, who founded BERO along with its CEO John Herman, revealed that he was inspired by his Emmy-winning wife for the new collection.
"To be honest, I created the BERO Shandy for Z. She's never been a beer drinker, so I wanted to bring something new to the table that she could enjoy," said Holland in a statement. "I've always loved shandies, so exploring that style with BERO felt like the perfect next step."
This drop comes right after the end of HBO’s Euphoria, which saw the demise of four characters, including Zendaya’s Rue Bennett. The show frequently touched on topics like addiction, mental health, and sobriety.
Since the episode, fans have remained divided on the show’s death, as many hoped for a happy ending for Rue.
“her dying is such a terrible ending, for a show that is meant to give hope for addicts!,” wrote one fan on X.
“Addiction and heartbreak took so much from her, yet she kept moving forward,” wrote another fan. “She deserved healing, happiness, and love, but spent most of her life fighting just to make it through another day.
Some people who have lived with addiction felt the ending was a fair portrayal of its repercussions.
“it was a realistic depiction of what addiction does to people,” wrote a fan. “Rue’s storyline was raw and her dying was the likely outcome based on her actions.”
But the alcohol-removed beverages, along with Holland’s sweet story, offer a moment of hope after a gut-wrenching finale — as well as a fun option for those opting not to drink.
“Still brewed with premium non-alcoholic beer as its foundation but layering on incredible fruit flavors that make this the perfect summertime beverage,” said Herman in a statement. “We think our core will love it but this opens up the opportunity for non-beer drinkers alike as well."
The new drinks are available for purchase via its official website, and will be available to purchase at Target stores and other retailers later this summer.
But those looking for more episodes of Euphoria are at a loss. Following the end of Season 3 on Sunday, HBO and showrunner Sam Levinson both confirmed that there will be no more seasons of Euphoria.
