Your summer road trip plans just got a whole lot more festive.
On Wednesday, May 27, Dolly Parton announced the opening of her new mega convenience store, Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop. The packed convenience stop is set to open at exit 22 off of I-65 in Cornersville, TN — situated one hour south of Nashville and one hour northwest of Huntsville. According to a press release announcing the opening, Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop, the new store is “built on the belief that every traveler deserves comfort, good food, and a genuine welcome.”
At Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop, guests can relax in between destinations while shopping custom merch, enjoy savory bites from the store’s full-service restaurant DLY BBQ, and re-caffeinate with Dolly’s Cup of Ambition coffee. “Whether stopping in for fuel, a hot meal, or a moment to stretch and recharge, visitors will find a space designed with real care and Tennessee hospitality,” reads a statement to the press.
In addition to food, clothing, and other merch, guests can look forward to entertainment experiences, like a stage for performances, a large event space, an upstairs lounge, and a tour bus in which Parton has traveled for years. Of course, travelers can refuel on gasoline, and take their dogs out at the shop’s dog park. Truckers will have designated fuel zones and a special truckers’ lounge. Charging stations will also be available to traveler’s driving electric vehicles.
Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop will also feature a an original mural commissioned as a love letter to Cornersville, Tennessee.The store comes by way of a partnership between Parton and her manager Danny Nozell, along with Gregory H. Sachs, who has owned and operated the trusted Tennessean Travel Stop brand since 2017.
Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop will officially open on Wednesday, June 24, with special celebrations to take place during the Fourth of July travel weekend.
