Angel Reese can add a new feat to her already outstanding resume.
On Tuesday, January 20, Netflix announced that the Chicago Sky forward will appear in the upcoming season of The Hunting Wives. Reese herself also confirmed the news, sharing a post from Netflix’s tweet and quote-replying with “Trainer Barbie,” and a series of emojis.
Little is known about Reese’s character, however, it comes just months after Reese manifested the role. In an August 2025 post on X, Reese expressed her love of the show. The show’s creator Rebecca Cutter caught wind of the post and thanked her for sharing her thoughts.
“I am DEAD on the floor!!! thank you for watching our lil ol show,” wrote Cutter.
Reese then replied, “just let me know if you need me for season 2.”
Five months later, Reese shared the news of the role. “i literally manifest my entire life,” she wrote.
The Hunting Wives premiered last July on Netflix to much critical acclaim and social media buzz. Shortly after, it was renewed for a second season.
Also reported as new cast members for the second season are John Stamos, Dale Dickey, and Cam Gigandet.
In the first season of The Hunting Wives, viewers saw Sophie (Brittany Snow) as she moved from Massachusetts to East Texas, where she met a socialite named Margo (Malin Ackerman) and her clique, The Hunting Wives. Sophie soon gets entangled in a web of drama, lies, and fixation.
“At the start of Season 2, Sophie and Margo are on the outs,” reads a logline for the show’s second season. “But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises. Are they the hunters or the hunted?”
Season 2 of The Hunting Wives will consist of eight episodes and premiere at a later date.
