Following some praise from Meek Mill, Swae Lee is feeling himself so much that he thinks he’s the next Michael Jackson.
Soon after his recent Coachella set, Meek Mill posted a message in support of Lee, writing, “Swae Lee don’t get enough credit!!!!”
Lee responded to the message with a declaration.
“My dots are connecting for me to be the next Michael Jackson twin,” wrote the rapper, followed by two fist-up emojis. “Meek the realest.”
Lee’s declaration came after he had a bumpy Coachella performance during the festival’s first night. The rapper’s show was cut right as he was going to perform “Black Beatles,” seemingly due to his set time running over.
While addressing the situation on social media, Lee issued an apology to fans before promising that his next performance would be better.
“We rocking out next week ! I’m sorry yall,” he wrote.
The rapper had more going for it than just the shocking stop, though. Elsewhere in the set, as he performed “Sunflower,” Swae Lee brought out his son dressed as Spider-Man.
The rapper also recently hopped on The Way Up with Angela Yee podcast to address the backlash he received after retracting previous comments about former Vice President Kamala Harris. He admitted that he didn’t vote in the last U.S. presidential election.
“They can't crucify you for having an opinion,” Lee said. “Everybody got their opinion. You can disagree. It's cool to disagree. And my eyes can be open just like anybody else's.”
The rapper also confirmed that he doesn’t support President Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again movement.
“I turned down money from MAGA. That's what they don't know,” Lee explained. “MAGA was trying to get me to campaign and do all that shit. ‘Come out, Swae, perform,’ after the tweet. They assumed that I was MAGA, too.”
