Lizzo addressed her harassment lawsuit while speaking about her album on the Today show, expressing that she’s “not afraid to fight” them.

"They claim hostile work environment, they claim sexual harassment. There were accusations of body-shaming, which have since been dismissed. What do you say to your fans about the allegations?" Today host Craig Melvin asked the four-time Grammy winner.

Lizzo then went into the “victories” that she’s had in the lawsuits. “One of the accusers dropped the fat-shaming claim because it had no merit in court,” she said. “The judge dropped most of the claims because they held no merit in court.”

Lizzo added that she “could have settled,” but she’s “not a woman who’s afraid of the truth coming out.”

“I’m not afraid to fight,” she said. “I’m really excited for all the claims to be dropped and for us all to just move forward.”

After being asked if she thought there was anything that she would have “done differently” about the situation, Lizzo steered the conversation back in the direction of her album to close it out. “I don’t think that is the point right now,” she said. “I just want to continue to think about my album and take the things that I’ve gone through and translate that into songs to help other people.”

Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez filed a lawsuit in 2023 alleging that Lizzo created a hostile work environment that included weight-shaming and sexual harassment.

Lizzo released her fifth studio album, Bitch, on June 5. After its release, Nicki Minaj dissed her on social media, writing, "Fat Lizzo lost 300 lbs just to sell 300 albums. So now she has loose skin AND a flop album, AND a weird charge. Sheesh.”

The singer then posted an alternate version of her song “Bitch” where she appeared to address the rapper.

"I'm praying for my sisters / Wanna see it's all in our bag, while we tussling," she says before adding, "They do win it so well that I couldn't even be mad."

On the same song, she also addressed the lawsuits from her former dancers, rapping, "I fantasize about the trial and exposing the lies / Then everyone will see that they was plotting on my demise.”
