Jay-Z seemed to bring up Dame Dash’s conversational tendencies during his Roots Picnic freestyle, which has the rap world racing to decipher his lyrics and apparent disses.
During the freestyle, Jay-Z said, “That chatty patty is down on his luck again,” which appeared to be a reference to Dash’s frequent interviews for various YouTube channels and podcasts where he talks about his disdain for Jay-Z.
There are many “chatty patties” out in the world of hip-hop, but the placement of Jay-Z’s lyric seems to confirm it’s about Dash.
Elsewhere in the same freestyle, Jay also references Dash again with the lyrics, “N****s teeth is tumbling out their mouth, and somehow I’m the one who done it.”
Those bars were a direct reference to a viral picture of Dash smiling without multiple teeth in his mouth.
Dash wasn’t the only person to seemingly catch some bars from Jay-Z, who addressed nearly everyone who’s wronged him in recent months and years.
Hov shaded Drake for seemingly dissing him on Iceman, rapping, “The jig is up/N***a I’m up 10/ Wrong chart, champ, you gotta look up again/N****s look up to HOV/I never looked up to them.”
Drizzy and Dash weren’t the only people to catch some zingers from Hov.
He also seemingly came at Nicki Minaj, who’s been adamant on social media that Jay-Z owes her $200 million for her stake in Tidal. Hov’s diss to her brought up her husband, Kenneth Petty, and his status as a registered sex offender.
“That lady back on that stuff, she sounds like she's in love with ‘em/Her Ken can't even… pick they kid… enough of them/A rapper can't be my opp, I got MAGA Republicans/Those shots came from the very top of the government, good luck with them,” Hov rapped.
Both Ye and Tory Lanez caught strays, too: Ye for calling Jay-Z’s twins Rumi and Sir the R-word, and Lanez for alleging that Roc Nation was sabotaging his case for the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.
Among the many people hyping up Jay-Z’s new performance was LeBron James, who posted a video of Hov’s live performance with three emojis of support.
