ASAP Rocky’s impression of Drake telling an audience he didn't want to perform “Work” sounds exactly like the real Drizzy.

During an interview with DJ Akademiks, Rocky spoke about his beef with Drake and why he decided to diss him. Rocky said he spoke up after the "God's Plan" artist said he didn't want to sing "Work," Drake's collaboration track with Rihanna.

"The only reason I said something was because I felt like he took a shot at my girl," Rocky said.

“He was like, 'I don’t want to perform this song,'” Rocky said around the hour and 29-minute mark of the video below, imitating Drizzy saying at the time, "I don’t sing this song anymore. You can sing it though.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Rocky said he thought Drake was his friend as recently as 2020, when Drizzy allegedly gifted him a chain for Yams Day in honor of ASAP Yams.

Rocky also revealed that he regretted dissing Drake on Metro Boomin and Future’s “Show of Hands” when he said, “N***as in they feelings over women. What, you hurt or somethin’? I smash before you birthed, son, Flacko hit it first, son. Still don’t trust you, it’s always us, never them.”

Rocky said fans interpreted the line to be a reference to the rumor that Rocky was involved with Drake’s child’s mother, Sophie Brussaux, before they were together.

“I said what I said, and I shouldn’t have, because it was petty,” Rocky admitted. “And I was being messy by putting another woman … saying something about another woman. That’s corny.”

Rocky added that while he was trying to make a point, he realized later that his lyrics perhaps crossed a boundary.

“What I did, like, you feel me? I thought about it … I probably could have left that out, you know what I’m saying? But I just needed n****s to know,” he said.

Rocky also revealed that he no longer communicates directly with Drake.
