Young Thug’s Brother Arrested on Gun Possession Charge After YSL Case Plea Deal

According to public jail records in Georgia, Young Thug's brother was booked on Thursday. Months earlier, he struck a plea deal in the YSL RICO case.

Young Thug’s brother, Unfoonk, has been arrested and booked into jail in Georgia after previously being reported to have struck a plea deal in connection with the controversial YSL case.

As first reported by WXIA-TV, Unfoonk—real name Quantavious Grier—was booked into jail on Thursday. Publicly available Fulton County Jail records list the booking agency as the Atlanta Police Department. Listed charges with a May 4 offense date include seat belt violation, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a window tint violation, and a criminal street gang count.

In December, Unfoonk was reported to have taken a plea deal in the YSL RICO case. Under the deal, per reports at the time, he entered a guilty plea on a single count of violating the state’s RICO act and a single count of theft by reception of stolen property.

As with all agreements of this nature, there were stipulations in place for Unfoonk, including an extended period of probation. As noted in reports stemming from word of his Thursday arrest, however, it wasn’t immediately clear how or if this latest development would have an effect on the deal moving forward.

The larger YSL case, of course, has remained a source of continued updates, not to mention ongoing criticism, since news of its related arrests (including Young Thug and Gunna) first broke. While Gunna has since been released on an Alford plea deal, Thug remains behind bars.

In April, an attorney for Thug again requested bond for his client. The move marked the fourth such motion filed on behalf of Thug, whose prior three attempts at securing bond were denied.
