“The first time [me and Takashi Murakami] met was back in 2019 when he opened a store for the first time in Japan,” JP THE WAVY recalled in the new Mike DeStefano-penned Complex cover story. “When Murakami reached out [in 2023], I was really excited about it. The same day I got a call, I drove to his art gallery to meet him in person.”
