Ray J considers Tank the winner of the latest iteration of VERZUZ, which saw the R&B Money artist taking the stage against his TGT collaborator Tyrese.
While Ray J acknowledged that he didn’t watch the entire event, he had apparently seen enough to declare Tank the victor. In his assessment of Tyrese, who was at one point playfully chided over his choice of attire during Thursday’s event, the 45-year-old argued that the Transformers alum’s performance was “worse” than his own.
“I know Tyrese was trash,” Ray J said in a video shared to Instagram on Thursday (March 26). “Tyrese was worse than I was on VERZUZ, and I can feel it. I can just feel the turtleneck and the anxiety in his voice and in his mood. Tyrese was trash. I think Tank won, and that's before I even finish watching it. But I can feel the anxiety and the insecurity in Tyrese's voice and his look and his mannerism. Tyrese is completely trash. He always has been.”
The Tyrese-targeting remarks continued from there, with Ray J further arguing there are “much more talented people” from the Watts area of Los Angeles. He also referenced his own prior VERZUZ misfire, which notably spurred a response from his sister, Brandy, back in 2022.
“Tyrese’s VERZUZ was worse than mine,” Ray J said on Thursday. “I think that Brandy is his friend, so you know, it’s all good. But I think Tyrese was trash tonight. Just completely horrible and scary.”
Of course, many spectators who watched the event disagreed with Ray J’s taken with many applauding Tyrese. The “How You Gonna Act Like That” crowned himself the winner and hit up In-N-Out Burger to celebrate.
