Tank and Tyrese really let the jokes fly during their VERZUZ event on Thursday night.
The two R&B legends faced off in a VERZUZ, bringing their signature hits and smooth vocals to a head-to-head showdown. It didn’t take long for them to become very unserious over the course of the event.
At one point, Tank roasted Tyrese’s outfit choice, poking fun at his turtleneck with an impromptu song centered around the garment. “I think he’s changing clothes. Now its the jacket with the suede lapel,” Tank joked. “You still got on that turtleneck. You recycled that turtleneck. You should take off that turtleneck.”
Tyrese was a good sport, even joining in on Tank’s roast by singing along when the R&B legend hit the word “turtleneck.”
Tank kept poking fun at Tyrese’s wardrobe through out the night, joking that he keeps changing from one coat to another bad coat.
Elsewhere during the VERZUZ, Tyrese took a moment to jokingly blame his sound man for working with Tank for “fucking my sound up.”
Outside of the nonstop friendly jokes between the two legendary R&B vocalists, the VERZUZ was filled with surprise guests including Trey Songz and Jamie Foxx.
VERZUZ, launched in 2020 by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, was later relaunched through a partnership with Apple Music and Complex, continuing to showcase major artists in a live, fan-driven format.
