Lizzo is looking back on the humble beginnings of her Instagram page as a food blog, telling a fan she initially started it to “eat for free” before finding success in music.

“Fun Fact: I started my IG as a food blog when I was broke so I could eat for free but then my music blew up,” the four-time Grammy winner wrote in a post shared to X on Thursday (May 21).

This quick moment of reflection was spurred by a fan’s belated realization of Lizzo’s IG handle, @lizzobeeating.

Next month, Lizzo will release her third studio album, titled Bitch, the title track of which interpolates Meredith Brooks’s 1997 Hot 100 hit of the same name. In a statement previously shared with Complex, Lizzo detailed the personal importance of the title, emphasizing the word’s use in this context as a statement of empowerment.

“So many incredible women in music have used the word for positivity, like Meredith Brooks and Missy Elliott,” she said at the time. “It was only fitting to name my album Bitch because it has become my favorite word when using it on my own terms, and because I am 100 percent that bitch!”

New music (including a Sexyy Red collab for Scary Movie) isn’t the only thing on the horizon for Lizzo. She also has a children’s book dropping in September, plus the title role in an upcoming Sister Rosetta Tharpe biopic.
