J. Cole is in a reflective, self-aware, and undeniably assured state of mind in his new Mike WiLL Made-It collaboration “OFG!”

The track, featured on Mike WiLL’s R3SET album, opens with Cole declaring he has “no problems, “only opportunities for growth.” From there, he fills his extended verse with playful nods to everyone from Lionel Messi (“Why they never told me soccer was lit?”) to the late Ross Perot (“I’m all ears”). But it’s a Grammys mention, arguably, that’s the real highlight here.

Cole, notably, is an 18-time nominee with two wins to his name. In 2020, he won for his feature on 21 Savage’s “A Lot,” then again four years later for his contributions to Lil Durk’s “All My Life.” His most recent nomination in 2025, with Might Delete Later competing in the Best Rap Album category.

In “OFG!,” available to stream below, Cole wonders if there’s anything “left to say” now that he’s 10 projects deep into his career and “over forty.” Perhaps, the Fall-Off artist speculates, he’s “told every story” at this stage in his journey as an artist.

“Fuck them lil’ sympathy Grammys,” Cole raps, turning his attention to the Recording Academy, arguing that he’d rather not be given any such award and would instead prefer to return to the list of artists who’ve never received a win from the institution.

2Pac, Biggie, Bob Marley, Snoop Dogg, and the LOX are all cited by Cole as examples of artists who “never get props” of this type. As he sees it, he’d rather be in their company.
