Ice Spice and Latto never had “a real beef,” at least according to Spice herself.

The Y2K! rapper and The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants voice actor fielded a fan question about the apparent non-beef during a recent appearance on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live! Specifically, she was asked what led to her wanting to set any issues aside, leading to the two joining up for this year’s “Gyatt” song and video.

“Um, what made me wanna squash it? It wasn’t a real beef to begin with, to be honest,” Spice said during her appearance on the show before going on to detail her experience on the set of the “Gyatt” video, released in September and directed by Hidji World.

“The whole video was so fun,” she recalled. “It was like, everybody was just joking around the whole time, to the point where, like, I remember my manager was like, ‘Can y’all wrap it up? Hurry up.’ It was really fun. Shoutout to Latto.”

Leading into the reveal of “Gyatt,” the widely held assumption was that Spice and Latto very much had beef. Perceived lyrical shots received attention, including those found in Offset’s Latto-featuring 2023 track “Fine As Can Be” and Spice’s 2024 single “Think U the Shit (Fart).”

Any such speculation was put to rest with the release of “Gyatt” in September, the video for which was commemorated with a joint appearance on Kai Cenat’s stream.

Earlier this year, Latto made her own appearance on WWHL, resulting in the reveal of her Mount Rushmore rap picks. Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Lil’ Kim, and Latto herself ultimately made the cut.
