Drake has a penchant for securing headlines by way of his occasionally perplexing, frequently entertaining Finsta. This week, the “Nokia” artist landed not one but two examples of this practice in action, including the timely sharing of a photo of Drake wearing Crocs inside what appears to be Cade Cunningham’s locker room.
Has Drake officially released the alleged “Shopping Spree” track?
As of this writing, no. The alleged leak was first spotted in recent days on a YouTube channel carrying the same name as Drake’s Finsta, though—unlike the IG account—the YT channel hasn’t been directly confirmed to be associated with Drake. At any rate, the alleged leak includes mention of Drake “sleeping in the Pistons locker room” and having sex with an unnamed woman while wearing Cunningham’s Crocs, like so:
"Everything is earned in this life baby, nothin' given / Heard you cut your bestie off, I know that was a tough decision / Sleeping in the Pistons locker room, I'm on another mission / Cade Cunningham left his crocs / Yeah, I fucked ya in 'em."
Has Drake addressed the alleged “Shopping Spree” leak?
Seemingly so, yes. Drake can indeed be seen in the pic below wearing Crocs in a setting consistent with the Pistons locker room. The photo was shared amid the hype spurred by the team's win against the Knicks on Thursday.
“Shopping Spree” first started popping up on social media and elsewhere around the same time as two other alleged leaks, including one featuring Drake's Her Loss collaborator 21 Savage. On the official front, Drake's most recent full-length, a joint project with PARTYNEXTDOOR, debuted at No. 1 back in February. A solo standout from the album, “Nokia,” recently got a video directed by Theo Skudra.
It’s widely assumed that Drake will release a new solo album deeper into the year. Just last month, he let an update to his main IG do the talking, telling fans and the world at large that his “next chapter” carried with it the potential to “leave you feeling uneasy.”
