Key Takeaways

  • Drake unexpectedly dropped three full-length projects at once—centered on long-teased album Iceman and joined by Maid of Honour and his 11th studio album Habibti.
  • Announced during a May 14 Iceman livestream, Habibti runs just over 36 minutes and features cover art with an image of a woman taped over.
  • The project’s 11-track lineup ranges from “Rusty Intro” and “WNBA” to collaborations like “Hurrr Nor Thurrr” with Sexyy Red and “Fortworth” with PARTYNEXTDOOR.

By now, you’re aware that Drake released three new full-lengths on Friday (May 15), including the centerpiece of the trio, Iceman.

Joining that long-teased album were Maid of Honour and Habibti, both featuring Sexyy Red. Taken collectively, this means fans now have roughly two and a half hours of new music from the 6 god to pore over for the foreseeable future.

Amid that, we’re taking a closer look at Habibti, specifically, after already doing the same for Iceman and Maid of Honour.

When did Drake announce Habibti?

When a new episode of Drake’s Iceman livestream series kicked off on Thursday (May 14), the widely held assumption was that we’d be getting a single (albeit highly anticipated) new album from the five-time Grammy winner. By the end of the episode, however, expectations had shifted dramatically with the reveal of three impending projects, all of which hit streaming services at midnight. This was, to say the least, a surprise.

Drake’s Habibti cover art

While the cover for Maid of Honour focused on Drake’s family, and Iceman opted for a Micheal Jackson nod, Habibti features a taped-over image of a not-immediately-identified woman. While just the woman’s eyes are fully visible, some fans have speculated as to who, exactly, the cover model may be. As of this writing, however, there doesn’t appear to have been any confirmation.

Sexyy Red, Loe Shimmy, and more are featured on Drake’s Habibti

Habibti, the shortest of Drake’s three new projects at just over 36 minutes in length, joins its counterpart, Maid of Honour, in welcoming Sexyy Red to its guest roster. Joining her are Qendresa, Loe Shimmy, and PARTYNEXTDOOR.

Here’s the full tracklist for Drake’s eleventh studio album Habibti

1. ”Rusty Intro"

2. ”WNBA"

3. ”Slap the City" (with Qendresa)

4. ”High Fives"

5. ”Hurrr Nor Thurrr" (with Sexyy Red)
