Cardi B has been introduced to the unique joys of Five Below, and she’s clearly a fan of the popular chain of discount shops.
In a series of Instagram Stories updates on Tuesday (June 9), Cardi, fresh off her performance at Game 3 of the NBA Finals, expressed her pleasant surprise at how the shopping experience handily exceeded her expectations. As Cardi explained, she had been under the impression that Five Below was on par with dollar stores, only to quickly come to the realization upon her inaugural visit that she had been misinformed.
“My daughter was so feened out to come to Five Below,” Cardi said while making her way through one of the chain’s locations. “I never been here before.”
The Am I the Drama? artist then held up a Fruity Pebbles candy bar as an example of the store’s offerings, saying she was “gagging” at the variety.
“I never been to this bitch before,” she said. “This ain’t nothing like the 99-cent store that I was used to.”
Cardi also assessed Five Below as being particularly kids-friendly, citing the presence of candy and toys. But it was the t-shirts, namely a Patrick Star one that earned a spot in her shopping cart, that sealed her fandom.
“I’m loving this,” Cardi said. “I been rich for too long, motherfuckers, because I ain’t know nothing about no Five Below.”
The Grammy winner wrapped her Little Miss Drama Tour back in April, later making it clear to fans that wall-to-wall demands on her schedule during that period means they shouldn’t expect her to be omnipresent right now.
“Y’all need to relax, okay?” she said in May, adding that it’s “very selfish” to inundate her with complaints.
