A suspect has been named in the March 22 shooting that wounded Sauce Walka and killed Sayso P.
The Memphis Police Department announced Wednesday that a warrant has been issued for 21-year-old Jayden Dandridge, who has been charged with first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, and employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and auto theft.
The department shared surveillance footage of the person believed to be Dandridge exiting a vehicle with an unidentified object in one hand and what appears to be a backpack in the other. Another person, who is seen wearing a face covering, also leaves the car on the opposite side.
A spokesperson for the Memphis Police Department said in a press conference following the shooting that the incident was "targeted."
"Early indications are that the victims and suspects are known to each other. We understand the public’s concern and reiterate that this was not a random act," the department said in a statement, obtained by People.
Sauce Walka was taken to a nearby hospital in "non-critical condition" after multiple people approached him and Sayso P and "fired shots without engaging in any conversation." These suspects returned to their vehicle and fled the scene.
Sayso P was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sauce Walka mourned the passing of Sayso P in an Instagram post. "Words or tears can't explain the loss I feel!" he wrote. "I told u we could smoke that blunt after security and the rest of our familia pull up."
