Rod Wave does not feel all that bad about ignoring the man who tried to sell him candy outside of a Chicago hotel.
According to XXL, Rod Wave commented, "Old ah n****," in response to a video posted on Instagram by chicagocandyboys showing the rapper slowly walk past him while trying to get him to buy a candy bar.
"You use to be one of my favorite artists until you did me like this I'm out here just tryna hustle for some lil bread to survive I was counting on seeing you to cause you look like the type that a help someone out and you walk right past me like I wasn’t even right there," he wrote.
The Instagram account chicagocandyboys caught wind of Rod Wave's comment, and posted a lengthy message on Wednesday, explaining that his issue has to do with "the principle of the situation how he did it."
His encounter with Rod Wave made him believe the rapper thought he was "bigger than the people that help them get to where they at." He also believed Rod Wave's hustling past would help him understand how he felt being ignored.
The 24-year-old also wanted to clear up any misconceptions surrounding age after Rod Wave called him an "old ah n****."
The incident comes after Rod Wave's agent Andrew Lieber claimed in a leaked clip from an upcoming documentary that his client wanted the "world to know" that he made $2 million for a show.
