Rod Wave was allegedly in possession of a baby bottle filled with lean when he was arrested in Atlanta on four charges last week.

As reported by Atlanta News First, when police pulled over the Florida-based rapper and singer on Friday (Nov. 7), the responding officer seized a baby bottle “containing 1 fl oz of a purple liquid which I suspected to be promethazine,” aka lean or purple drank. Before the arrest, police reportedly saw Rod speed through a stop sign, going 45 mph in a 30 mph zone. He did slow down when the marked patrol vehicle pulled up behind him, however, and the officer turned on his lights and sirens in case Rod fled the scene.

The officer “assisted” Rod Wave out of the vehicle and told him that he was “under arrest for reckless driving.” He added that he could smell marijuana, and then asked him if he had any weapons on him, to which he didn’t respond. He was frisked, and the officer discovered a Glock with a high-capacity magazine. The passenger in the vehicle was Jamond Byner, who told the officer that they “were coming from a studio and were not driving reckless.”

Byner was also arrested after he admitted he was in possession of “approximately 7 grams of suspected marijuana.” The search of the car yielded the officer recovering more promethazine, oxycodone, and a Sig Sauer P320 9mm firearm. The warrant stated that they also recovered “a black backpack that contained a large sum of cash wrapped in several bundles.”

Rod Wave was booked on charges of possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, reckless driving, and violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act (VGCSA). His passenger, meanwhile, was hit with the VGCSA charge, the firearm charge, and a marijuana possession charge.

Rod Wave was released on Saturday on a $8,000 bond, while Byner was also released the same day. The news of his arrest broke the same day Rod Wave received his first Grammy nomination.
