Tokischa playfully called out Sueños Festival attendees for not reciprocating her onstage energy.
The Dominican singer and rapper performed during the Chicago music festival over the weekend before being interviewed by social media personality Xavier Custodio. Although Custodio told the dembow artist that the crowd loved her energy, Tokisha thought otherwise.
"I wish they would have gave me that energy back," the Latin vocalist said. "If y'all coming to my show not to shake ass, why y'all even coming?"
“Shake some ass. I don't wanna be shaking ass by myself," she continued.
The artist also joked that the audience gave her a blank expressions during the show.
Tokischa is known for having wild stage performances, like shaving her head onstage while opening for FKA Twigs in New York earlier this year.
“It's something I’ve always wanted to do,” said the Amor y Droga artist. “For me, it's really meaningful because I'm closing a huge chapter in my life with the release of my album, Amor y Droga, and l'm so, so excited, so happy.”
“I've wanted to do this since I was a little girl. I had never done it, never dared to,” she continued. “So l wanted to turn it into a performance as part of the message of the album, which is a message of self-love which is, ‘I don't care what anyone says, l'm going to do what I want to do.’”
