R&B singer and reality television star Tamar Braxton thinks Birdman makes the perfect husband for her oldest sister, Toni Braxton.

The Braxtons star stopped by The Breakfast Club on Wednesday (December 17) and looked back on the early days that her sister and the Cash Money Records co-founder began dating. The couple married last August, and although reports of a divorce were brewing temporarily earlier this year, they're still going strong.

Around the 20-minute mark of the interview below, Tamar recounted that Birdman "pursued" the "Breathe Again" vocalist through her. In 2013, Toni divorced her first husband, musician Keri Lewis, after twelve years of marriage. The ex-spouses share two sons, Denim, 24, and Diesel, 22.

"At first, he was like, 'Yeah, hi.' I was like, 'She's married. Leave my sister alone.' And then when she got a divorce, he was very intentional about her," Tamar said.

The singer and actress also reiterated that she never dated Birdman and that it was one of her "homegirls" who previously dated the rapper and music executive. At the time, Tamar was in talks to become a Cash Money Records act.

On online criticism about Tamar supporting her brother-in-law, she called it "cyberbullying." The vocalist was present during the Cash Money Records vs. No Limit Records Verzuz during ComplexCon, stepping in when her sister was absent.

"Why wouldn't you support your family? That's my brother-in-law. That's my family," Tamar said. "We spend holidays together. We have intimate conversations about my family. So, why wouldn't I support him and why would I not be brush him off or wipe him down? ... As I should and I'd do it again."

On yesterday's episode of talk show Sherri, Tamar denied crossing boundaries with Birdman and said that the two have maintained a "platonic" relationship over the years.
