Currently out of treatment, Lil Nas X attended a court hearing early in the week, where his lawyer shared a positive update.

As captured by Rolling Stone senior reporter Nancy Dillion, on Monday (November 17), the lawyer for the two-time Grammy winner, Drew Finding, addressed media outside the courthouse in Los Angeles.

“As you can see, "First of all, Montero is doing amazing, doing great, and we’re super happy for him. We’re just looking forward to a positive resolution in this case, which we’re very confident of," Finding said, adding that the reporters would see them again in March 2026.

In August, the rapper and singer was arrested and received a misdemeanor charge after walking Ventura Blvd. in Los Angeles at 4 a.m. and reportedly charging at police officers when they were at the scene. Lil Nas X, born Montero Hill, was believed to have been having an unspecified overdose at the time. Before the 26-year-old was detained, he was caught on camera by drivers, one of whom the artist threatened. Lil Nas X was charged with three felony counts of battery and one felony count of resisting an officer.

The following month, Drew Findling told Dillion that Lil Nas X was getting treatment for his "issues" and was surrounded by an "amazing team of people" that were focused on his personal improvement.

“He’s had a great life. He’ll continue to have a great life. This is a bump that he’s gonna get over, and on behalf of him, his family is making sure that he addresses all those issues right now," Finding told the reporter.

In an Instagram Story after being released from custody, Lil Nas X reflected on his arrest as "terrifying," but said he was going to be "alright."
