Kevin Federline and Britney Spears' short-lived marriage was plagued by multiple incidents in its three years. In his new memoir, You Thought You Knew, the DJ and entertainer uncovers another scandal: his ex-wife allegedly cheating on him with a woman.
In an excerpt of the memoir, as shared by USA Today, Federline, who shares two sons with Spears, claims that the incident occurred at an Amsterdam hotel. The couple, who were married from 2004 to 2007, share two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, 18.
"Britney and I went to our room, but shortly after, she said she’d be right back. At first, I didn’t think much of it," Federline wrote in his memoir. "The hotel floor was ours; they had booked it out for the entire tour, so everyone’s rooms were nearby. But as time passed, I began to wonder what was taking so long."
Federline shared that while he headed towards the elevator in search of Spears, he passed a room that his wife was in with a woman named Theresa, and the two were allegedly making out.
"There she was. Theresa was sitting on the edge of the bed. Britney stood between her legs, hands on her face, and they were (expletive) going at it. Full-on making out," Federline claimed.
"It was one of those moments that hits you so fast, your brain can’t even begin to process it," he continued. "You just stand there, stunned, not sure what’s real. I didn’t say a word. Just stood there, watching. For a second, nobody moved. Then they both looked up and saw me, and I turned and walked away."
After retreating back to his hotel room, which he shared with Spears, the pop vocalist followed him and apologized, which Federline believed although he was "furious."
"I wasn’t interested in a relationship that involved more than two people," he wrote, adding that their time overseas revealed that he was "falling in love with Britney."
Spears' reps have accused Federline of "profiting" off the singer with his memoir, as he's no longer receiving child support for their children. In another excerpt, Federline alleged that he occasionally awakened at night to find his then-wife standing outside their sons' bedroom with a knife.
After a custody battle over their sons, Sean and Jayden were primarily raised by their father and had a period of estrangement with Spears. The singer has mostly reconnected with Jayden, which she's shared in occasional Instagram posts.
