Swayvo Twain, the oldest child of late musician D'Angelo, posted an emotional reflection about his late father on Instagram.

On Wednesday (Nov. 12), the 28-year-old rapper and singer who's the son of D'Angelo and the late Angie Stone, shared a post with his meditations on the Black Messiah vocalist.

One clip came from a eulogy that Twain, real name Michael Eugene Archer Jr., gave at D'Angelo's private memorial service in Virginia earlier this month.

“Knowing your father’s history and where he comes from … Really getting an understanding for that shit is, like, monumental,” Twain said in a brief clip below.

The video then cut to a moment when Twain reflected on D'Angelo spending three weeks with him in Atlanta. The late artist, who died in October after a battle with pancreatic cancer, also has two younger children: Imani, 26, and Morocco, 15. The four-time Grammy winner was 51 at his time of death.

“Anything we ever missed, any questions I ever had, anything I wanted to ask him about, we just had every conversation and every laugh and every moment,” Twain reflected on the precious time spent with his dad. “It really cleared my spirit, man. That’s the time I needed him the most and he stood right there, tall.”

Elsewhere in the post, Twain said he went into “hiding” after the death of his mom earlier this year. Stone died in a car collision on March 1 in Montgomery, Alabama, while returning home from a concert.

“I’m not hiding this time,” Twain continued. “Mom passed and left me with a lot of questions. After this funeral, I gained a lot of answers to things.”

The artist added that he felt “motivated” after the death of his parents.

“Everytime he popped his head out, he did his big one,” Twain said about D’Angelo. “So that’s what I’mma do.”

Twain shared clips of him spending time with his family and other footage from the memorial service. The also artist teased a tribute song dedicated to the Voodoo singer.

Imani Archer, who's also a singer, shared in an Instagram post last month that she was in "disbelief and shock" about her father's passing and released tribute song "Surreal."
