ASAP Rocky stressed that his new music video for "Helicopter" has "generational" impact and isn't AI-generated.

On Monday (January 12), the Harlem rapper released his first music video of 2026, with the "Helicopter" visual utilizing trippy and animated visuals that have become Rocky's signature. After speculation about the video being AI-generated became widespread, Rocky reacted in a social media post shortly after the Dan Streit-directed video dropped.

"THIS VIDEO IS NOT Ai GENERATED! THIS VIDEO IS NOT Ai GENERATED!" Rocky wrote multiple times, adding, "JUST GENERATIONAL."

An early version of the track, slated to appear on Rocky's fourth studio album, Don't Be Dumb, featured Playboi Carti. "Helicopter" comes one week after the release of Rocky's music video for "Punk Rocky," which starred actress Winona Ryder. Also making cameos were Danny Elfman, Thundercat, and ASAP Nast. Ryder's appearance in the video also ties in Rocky's collaboration with filmmaker Tim Burton, as the director has lent his creative expertise to Don't Be Dumb's cover, and has cast Ryder in films like Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands.

Long before teasing his Burton-drawn cover artwork for Dumb, last year, the rapper spoke to Billboard about his upcoming album and said the director was "fucking with it heavy."

"He was rocking his head and he’s like, 'Wow! I didn’t know you made that kind of music!'" Rocky told the publication.
