O’Shea Jackson Jr. has added to the consesus that the breakout hit of Drake’s Iceman is “Janice STFU.”
The Los Angeles native took to X on Sunday, where he confirmed that like the rest of us, he can’t get the song out of his head.
“The hook for Janice STFU be in my head,” Jackson Jr. wrote. “There. I said it.” The actor joined others, most notably Timbaland, in praising the track. Earlier in the weekend, the super-producer also took to social media to praise the song.
“Take it from the king... that song gon’ be timeless,” Timbaland said of the track.
And while Timbaland praising Drake is one thing, Jackson Jr.’s co-sign feels a bit more monumental. Remember, he’s the son of Los Angeles rap royalty Ice Cube, so it’s not hard to posit who’s side he was on when Drake beefed with Kendrick Lamar.
In fact, at the time, Jackson Jr. actively mocked Drake by questioning an image in which a young Drizzy points his finger gun directly at a camera lens with an eye shut. “Is he using the wrong eye to aim or am I trippin?” Jackson Jr. wondered at the time.
But hey, a bop is a bop, and not even an L.A. native like Jackson Jr. can deny that.
