Ray J says Christmas is “different” now that he isn’t legally allowed to spend time with his family for the holidays.
On Thursday, the R&B singer hopped on Instagram to share some of his thoughts in a reel, saying that he’s “usually with the kids” opening presents. He also shared a before-and-after of his Christmas tree.
“A lonely Christmas. No kids, no presents, no little feet running around - just a tree and the weight of missing what matters most. I’m learning the hard way. I understand that not every lesson comes gently. Life teaches in many ways. I’m listening," he wrote in the caption.
On Dec. 20, Ray J reacted to a judge's ruling that he’s not permitted to see his kids on the holidays or for his son’s birthday. "Man, I don’t even want to talk about it," Ray J told reporters. "I’m missing my kids. I’m missing Christmas, my son's birthday."
The 44-year-old was hit with a no-contact restraining order after he was arrested last month for allegedly pointing a gun at his estranged wife, Princess Love, during a livestream, claiming that he was afraid she and her family members were coming to take their kids, 7-year-old Melody and 5-year-old Epik. He was later released on a $50,000 bail, denying he ever wielded a weapon in Princess’ direction, though it briefly came into view during the livestream. His restraining order was subsequently extended.
