Cardi B doesn’t care about traveling in private jets.
During a new conversation with the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, the titular host asked Bardi how her spending has changed over the years since she made it big. The Bronx hitmaker opened up about her spending habits and discussed how expensive private travel is now.
“One thing about it. I do not care to get on a nice good Delta first class. I don't give a fuck,” Cardi said at the 50:10 minute mark. “One thing I hate is spending money. I rather spend the money on the strip club than spend it on a fucking jet. That's one thing that I do not like.”
“When I see the spending on it, I be like that was just so fucking stupid. I mean, sometimes I do take jets, but…it [has] to make sense,” she continued. “It was times that I would just…want to take a jet because I don't want to go through security and shit like that. And it's like, why, why are you spending $35,000 to go to fucking—well, around 2020—are you spending $35,000 to go [from] New York to LA?”
She shared that since the pandemic, those prices are almost twice as much, with a flight from New York City to LA now costing $60,000.
“Now it’s 60. It doubled. The jet price is double, honey. That ain't no more. That's more like New York to Miami now,” Cardi added. “That's something that I [had] to definitely cut back on.”
The 33-year-old kicked off her Little Miss Drama Tour on Feb. 11 in Palm Desert, California, and since then, has stopped in Portland, San Francisco, Houston, Minneapolis, Chicago, and Toronto. Her trek wraps in Atlanta, where she’ll play a set of two shows on April 17 and 18.
The tour is in support of her sophomore studio album, Am I the Drama?, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. It became her second consecutive project to top the chart, following 2018’s Invasion of Privacy, making her the only woman rapper to ever have her first two albums open at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
